"THE GIRLS PLAY" (TGP) is an original K-Rock band animation IP centered around music, youth, friendship, and dreams.
The story follows Jung Jin-chul, a 45-year-old guitarist who once dominated the Korean band scene but lost everything due to his obsession with success. Following an accident, he wakes up in the body of a 19-year-old high school girl, Lee Seo-yeon. Granted a second chance at youth, Jin-chul resolves to build a legendary band with a lasting legacy rather than a fleeting one-hit wonder. To achieve this, he forms the band "TGP" alongside four young girls, each carrying their own unique dreams and hidden scars.
The lineup features a vocalist who failed her idol debut, a straight-A student on drums, an elite bassist yearning for freedom, and a pragmatic genius on the keyboard. Through their music, they clash, grow, and ultimately discover their own unique sound and true aspirations.
Weaving together fierce band auditions, formidable rivals, internal conflicts, and profound friendships, the narrative also uncovers secrets connecting the past and present. The series perfectly captures the emotional depth of a coming-of-age youth drama combined with the thrilling stakes of a band survival competition.
A core asset of this IP is TGP's original music, which authentically reflects the characters' emotions and narrative arcs. By releasing the in-universe tracks as actual OSTs and official band singles, we aim to create a dynamic music entertainment IP where the story and the music evolve together.
