BWT Alpine Formula One Team, competing as a constructor in the FIA Formula One World Championship, represents the fusion of Renault’s motorsport legacy and the Alpine brand’s passion for performance and innovation. Rebranded in 2021 from Renault F1 Team to promote Renault’s sports car brand, Alpine, the team carries a rich history and a commitment to excellence in the pinnacle of motorsport. Based in Enstone, Oxfordshire, UK (chassis and management) and Viry-Châtillon, France (engine operations), the team races under a French license and is led by Executive Advisor Flavio Briatore.
The team’s roots trace back to 1981 as Toleman, evolving through Benetton (1986–2000) and Renault F1 (2000–2010, 2016–2020) before adopting the Alpine name. It has a storied legacy, with seven Formula One World Championship titles: Drivers’ Championships in 1994, 1995 (Michael Schumacher), 2005, and 2006 (Fernando Alonso), and Constructors’ Championships in 1995, 2005, and 2006. The team’s most recent victory came at the 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix, marking Alpine’s first win under the new branding. In 2024, the team secured two podiums and finished sixth in the Constructors’ Championship.
