Hasbro enters into a new multi-year licensing partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, naming the company the global primary toy licensee for the Harry Potter universe beginning in 2027.

“Our partnership with Hasbro will deliver fresh, innovative toys, collectibles, and games inspired by the beloved Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films and the new HBO Original TV series,” remarks Robert Oberschelp, President of Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products. Oberschelp called the Harry Potter fandom “one of the most passionate and enduring fan communities in entertainment history.”
Under the agreement, Hasbro will develop and distribute a broad range of licensed toys and games inspired by the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films, as well as the upcoming HBO Original Harry Potter series. Planned product categories include dolls, role-play items, action figures and collectibles, interactive plush, and board games, with additional details expected later this year.
The partnership aligns with the continued expansion of the Harry Potter franchise, which marks the 25th anniversary of the first film in 2026. The new HBO Original series is slated to debut next year and will stream on HBO Max, where available, including Germany and Italy, with launches in the U.K. and Ireland planned for March 2026.
The series will explore the wizarding world across multiple seasons, introducing the characters and stories to new audiences while expanding the franchise’s global reach. Casting for the series includes Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, among others.
The agreement reinforces Hasbro’s franchise-focused strategy, expanding its licensed portfolio alongside owned brands across toys, games, and collectibles, while positioning Harry Potter for a new generation of product launches tied to both legacy films and new episodic content.
