What is Rokimoto?
In Japanese, the name could be interpreted as the road or path (Roki) to one’s true essence (Moto). In the world of toys and collectibles, Rokimoto is the first brand from Funmaker Inc., Funko founder Mike Becker’s new company.

Together with Dave Bere, a former Target Buyer who served as Vice President of Brand & Marketing and, most recently, Pop! Yourself & Retail at Funko, “Funmaker Mike” has been in a mad dash to launch the new line, posting near-daily teasers on Instagram. The duo tapped Bart Silberman, President & Founder of Golden Sombrero Licensing and former Vice President of Sales & Licensing at Super7, to lead business development and licensing efforts for the new company.
With a mission of “relentless positivity,” Funmaker Inc. is looking to put smiles on faces with a blend of styles rooted in a love for vintage American and Japanese pop culture.
So, what products can the industry expect from Rokimoto? Time will tell, but word on the street is that more details will surface very soon. After all, many of the toy industry’s biggest players are headed to The Big Apple for Toy Fair next week. Could Rokimoto be planning an adventure in the city?
